James Sochinski.

If you are a Hokie, you have sang and danced to many of his arrangements. He was a big part of Hokie gameday for decades. I was priviledged to be in the MVs in the late 80s when he was a part of our daily preparation and, many years later, sit next to him at several games and talk football. He will be missed greatly by so many.

Rest in peace Uncle Jim!

Marching Virginian Alumni,

It is with a heavy heart that I tell you Jim Sochinski, our beloved Uncle Jim, passed away during the early hours of January 10, 2022. Instead of a funeral, Jim’s wish for us is to celebrate at our next reunion and lift a glass, pint, or growler at the Sochinski-McKee Center. Here's to a life well lived.
